Advantages:
- Control fully integrated in the drilling machine
- Easy mounting via adapter plate and tension spring
- High constant feed force
- Slow start of drilling, automatic adjustment of the feed speed when reinforcement is hit
- Vibration monitoring
- Jet-water protected IP55
- Clutch for manual and automatic operation
- Automatic shut-off when the core bit breaks through in a through hole
- Stop for setting the drilling depth as accessory
Application examples:
- Row drilling
- Parallel working with several machines
My name is BA 50 , I am the new automatic drilling feed from WEKA.
My job is to take work off the operator. I do this
highly efficiently and very comfortably. With simple mounting, an
adapter flange is fitted to the drill stand concerned (figure 2). The
feed housing of the drill stand is slightly modified for this, which is indicated by
the additional designation BA (e.g. KS50BA). With a few
steps, my drive (figure 1) is then attached to the drill stand within seconds
(figures 3 and 4). Now I only need to be connected with a plug to
my friend, the Mammoth SR25 BA/38 BA, or the Jumbo
SR65BA/68BA/SR75BA, because they take over my control,
and I am ready to go. Because my friends control me, I do not need separate controllers
in an additional housing, so there is also no annoying additional cable clutter. I also have
no additional operating elements, because I am intelligently guided by my friends.
Drilling machine
As already mentioned, I work together with the SR25/38 and the SR65/68/75. In
these machines my control is integrated and a small plug connection
is fitted. This is then confirmed by the additional designation BA on the rating plate
(e.g. SR25BA).
I only work together with these machines, because they are intelligent enough to
meet my needs. Optionally, these machines are also available with
integrated water stop. In addition to the manually adjustable ball valve,
the machine starts / stops the water flow automatically when starting and stopping
the machine.
Drilling process
After my drive has been mounted on the drill stand and I have been connected to the SR machine,
my operator uses the handwheel of the drill stand to manually move the
core bit a few millimetres above the surface to be drilled, mechanically engages my
feed unit, then presses the start button of the SR machine for two
seconds and I get started.
I select the drilling speed myself together with my friends, and in the
basic setting I run at a drilling power of 90 %; if the operator
does not want to drill at full load, he can simply press my start button once more,
then I switch back to 70 % drilling power.
I start drilling gently and then carefully increase the feed speed up to the
load limit. Of course I notice every piece of reinforcement and adjust my
feed speed to the power of the machine. If it gets
too heavy for my friends, I am regulated back. I also feel when the core bit
breaks through in a through hole and then switch off. If only a blind hole is to be drilled,
my operator sets a stop for the drilling depth. When I feel
it, I switch off.
I notice excessive vibrations, such as occur when the core bit is not
cutting properly, and then switch the machine off.
As I said, when I am finished, I switch off. I do not return automatically, because
that takes longer than by hand and often damages the core bit or the segments.
My operator simply disengages my feed unit with one movement and
I can then be moved back manually.
